Ukrainian residents who are seeking refuge in Poland say they are thankful to be safe but fearful about the future. Many arriving at the accommodation centre are women with young children.

The United Nations says more than half a million people have fled Ukraine for neighbouring countries since the start of Russia’s invasion.
