Westminster Accounts: Are APPGs the next big political scandal?

The system for MPs declaring who’s behind their donations should be overhauled, a government ethics advisor has told Sky News.

The call for change was prompted by revelations in the Westminster Accounts project – from Sky News and Tortoise Media – which found the ultimate source of some donations is almost impossible to discover.

All-party parliamentary groups (APPGs) have received over £20m worth of funding from external organisations since the 2019 general election.
