The missile has a strike capability of nearly 200 miles (300km) – meaning it would potentially allow Ukraine to hit further into Russian territory.
Retired Air Vice-Marshall Sean Bell has stressed that the 902 Storm Shadows the UK currently holds are 25 years old and need to be upgraded.
As they cost about £2m each, “the UK will not upgrade them all” so there is a “load of stockpile available for disposal” that Ukraine can make use of.
