Workers at Royal Mail vote for more strikes

Thousands of Royal Mail workers have voted to go on further strikes in a long-running row over pay.

In a ballot held by the Communication Workers Union – which represents more than 110,000 workers – almost 96% of voters backed strike action.

Today’s vote mean that the union has a six-month mandate for industrial action running until mid-August.

Royal Mail has warned thousands of jobs could be at risk if the strikes go ahead.
