Gary Lineker row: PM hopes BBC dispute ‘can be resolved’

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he hopes the BBC can resolve its row with Gary Lineker in a “timely manner” and that the dispute is “rightly a matter for them and not the government”.

Mr Sunak then reiterated the government’s stance on ‘stopping the boats’ before finishing the statement by saying “I know not everyone will always agree, but I do believe this is fair and right”.
