How were Richard Sharp and Boris Johnson linked?

The chair of the BBC has resigned after failing to disclose links to Boris Johnson when he applied for the role.

Richard Sharp helped set up a meeting which led to the former Prime Minister getting a loan guarantee.

A report found it could be perceived he was not independent from the ex-PM, who recommended him for the job.
