Warning of 70mph winds as Storm Kathleen set to hit parts of UK

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow for a large part of Scotland on Friday.

It lasts from 3am until 9am, meaning the morning commute could be affected for some people.

The warning stretches northeast from around Stirling to just south of Inverness.

“Snow is likely to cause some travel disruption on Friday morning, particularly on higher routes,” said the Met Office.

It said roads, buses and rail could experience delays.

A separate rain warning from 2am to 9am on Friday covers the Glasgow and Edinburgh areas.
