Starmer: Truss should forgo £115,000-a-year allowance

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer says Liz Truss should not get the £115,000 annual payment handed to departing prime ministers.

“No, she shouldn’t take that entitlement after 44 days. She should turn it down,” he said.

Sir Keir also said there needed to be a general election to halt “the revolving door of chaos” under the Conservatives.
